A survey has been carried out to evaluate the results of New Year events and discounts implemented by the department of tourism and resorts of Ajara and to measure the number of tourists attracted from December 27 to January 20.

On January 24-25, the representatives of the department of tourism and resorts of Ajara are attending the Black Sea cruise platform meeting held in Trabzon, Republic of Turkey.

Based on data of hotels in Ajara 393.617 people stayed at hotels indicating on 9,68% increase compared with the date of the same period of 2012.

A new hotel- casino ''Golden Palace Batumi'' has been opened. Ukrainian company ''Wisher Enterprise'' started the construction process in February of last year investing 15 million dollars.

On January 11, at 8 PM a popular Ukrainian pop group “Via Gra” is holding a concert on Europe Square. Notably this will be the first concert of  the group in Georgia with its new composition. The free concert of Via Gra  will be the final stage of the cycle of New Year concerts organized by the department of tourism and resorts of Ajara. However, the Christmas market with children carousels will continue till January 20.
