On May 19, 2014 the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara and Batumi State Maritime Academy signed memorandum of mutual cooperation.

The number of flights at Batumi International Airport is increasing as summer season is approaching. Currently, regular flights are operated by Turkish Airlines (every day), "Belavia" - twice per week (flights Minsk-Batumi will be operated 4 times a week on season).

During 2014 Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara is planning various PR activities on the Turkish market for 5 months (April-August).

Kutaisi David The Builder International Airport has already become one of the main sources for tourist inflow in Georgia.  Low cost airline "Wizz Air" is starting a new season of 2014 with news. On March 31, a new route Vilnius- Kutaisi was launched giving a chance to tourists from the Baltic countries interested in Georgia to take the mentioned flights twice a week on Fridays and Mondays.

Department of tourism and resorts of Ajara is concluding the first stage of trainings which aims to increase the level of service in the field of tourism. From March 31until May 7 trainings were conducted to 230 employees of the tourism industry.
