The number of flights at Batumi International Airport is increasing as summer season is approaching. Currently, regular flights are operated by Turkish Airlines (every day), "Belavia" - twice per week (flights Minsk-Batumi will be operated 4 times a week on season). Georgian Airways is flying twice a week from Batumi to Moscow while on season Siberian Airlines "S7" will additionally realize one flight per week in the mentioned direction. Concerning domestic flights, Batumi-Tbilisi will be realized 4 times a week.
Besides regular flights, it is important to note, that the number of charter flights has significantly increased. Correspondently, the region expects more tourists this year. From the end of May till the end of October flights in direction of Tel Aviv-Batumi will be operated twice a week bringing approximately 260 Jewish tourists weekly.
The number of charter flights from Poland is also going up. From June 7 charters will be launched from Warsaw to Batumi. In addition, from June 14 a new route will be added in the direction of Katowice-Poznan-Batumi. As a result of an advertising campaign and negotiations realized by the department of tourism and resorts of Ajara in Republic of Poland the region will host 3 charter flights per week from the country on season of 2014.
Increased number of flights is also expected from Ukraine. Ukrainian International Airlines will operate flights 4 times per week from June and 6 times per week in direction of Kiev-Batumi on an active season.
