There are many hunting and fishing places in Ajara with seasonal hunting of wild boar, hare and badger and trout fishing in the rivers. In the woods you can pick strawberries, bilberries and blackberries.
Ajara is a diverse region. The constituent municipalities greatly differ from one another. For example, Kobuleti is rich in diverse parks: visits to the Botanical Garden, Mtirala National Park, Kintrishi Protected Areas, Ispani wetland and Tikeri Managed Nature Reserve will considerably enrich your adventures. In Khelvachauri you can taste the sweetest honey made in Machakhela; in Keda you can enjoy grapes of Chkhaveri and Kokotauri along with healthful mineral water, in Shuakhevi you can try high quality tobacco and will never forget delicious dry potatos and plaited cheese from Khulo.
You can also enjoy the sights of rich historical culture against the background of ancient castle remains and Queen Tamar’s arched bridges.
Georgian hosts are also generous and hospitable. You can experience first-hand their everyday life and participate in farming/economic activities as well as taste and enjoy local dishes cooked with ecologically pure products.
You can see in these places not only ready made samples of national trade and craft but you can also participate directly in making hand made examples of local crafts including musical and working instruments and spinning and knitting.
