INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS IN BATUMI

Ajara region is an important cultural center of the country. Many interesting musical or film festivals are held here.
Lovers of jazz annually gather at the “Black Sea Jazz Festival” in Batumi and enjoy the opportunity to listen to the world famous stars. Lovers of classical music can attend various types of concerts with symphonic orchestra. In the last week of August there is held electronic music festival "Batumi Summer Set Fest".
Traditionally, every year in September, an International Art-House Film Festival “BIAFF” is held in Batumi representing famous film directors from different countries of the world. An International Festival of Animated Films “Tofuzi” is held in September-October.

TRADITIONAL FESTIVALS IN AJARA

Various types of traditional festivals and events are regularly held in almost every part of Ajara. They are interesting for foreign guests as well as visitors coming from different parts of Georgia inasmuch as they reflect customs and traditions of Ajara region. The following festivals can be singled out: “Shuamtoba”, “Kolkhoba”, “Shemodgoma Kedashi”, “Tbeloba”, “Machakhloba”, “Selimoba”, “Gomarduloba”, “Merisoba”, etc.
