Winter in Batumi is moderate and warm. It rarely snows here, however if you witness the snow time be sure, you will never forget it. Dark blue Black Sea, snow covered beaches, palms and evergreen magnolias create unforgettable scenery.

Winter becomes particularly attractive in Seaside Boulevard - white colonnades, modern sculptures, monument of Ali and Nino on the background of Caucasian Mountains. In winter Sea port landscapes are amazing. Here the cozy and calm atmosphere of old ships is disturbed by peaceful waves and seagulls.

Winter in Batumi creates calm and quiet environment. However, as New Year is coming, the number of city guests is going up. Numerous tourists from different parts of Georgia and neighboring countries visit Batumi to celebrate New Year here. Andrea Bocelli, Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo, group Bueno Vista, Julio Iglesias and others have already held grandiose open air concerts on Europe Square and Miracle Park.

Cafe-restaurants, high class hotels and casinos attract people with special offers and entertaining events. Free folklore shows, performances of motion and puppet theaters are held on central streets and squares of the city under organization of Batumi city hall. At the same time during the whole month, Batumi Ice Palace and central squares host special New Year shows for kids at Christmas trees.

The Christmas markets and free New Year concerts are organized under initiative of Ajara government and the department of tourism and resorts of Ajara. In winter period (from the end of December till March) a special project is launched.

During this period Batumi Dolphinarium holds shows on weekends and museums welcome a lot of guests.
