On September 19, the vice president of the international eco tourism society Masaru Takayama held a presentation at the department of tourism and resorts of Ajara. Before going to Kenya, where he is attending an Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism conference, Masaru paid a visit to our region to get acquainted with Ajara tourism potential.

During the stay he visited Kobuleti protected areas, Mtirala National Park as well as Kolkheti national park.During the presentation Masaru Takayama talked about the role and peculiarities of eco tourism in Japan. He also highlighted the issue of marketing activities necessary for eco tourism promotion. For Georgia, the country without a long history of eco tourism development, it is crucial to share the experience of similar experts. Notably, the department of tourism and resorts of Ajara has already realized numerous activities for favoring eco tourism development in the region. Moreover, eco tourism is one of the main priorities in the program budget for the next year.
