On July 24, at 8 a.m. Batumi Port hosted the biggest cruise ship ever Riviera with 1250 tourists and about 600 crew members onboard. The local travel agency Adjara Tour has provided excursion service to the cruise ship passengers. The ship is to leave Batumi Seaport at 10 p.m.

It shall be noted that the cruise tourism statistics is steadily going up. In 2012 around 10 cruise ships visited the region, while in 2013 the number increased to 16. Moreover, for 2014 twenty eight cruise ships are scheduled to enter Batumi Seaport.
