On 28th-29th of November 2013 Batumi hosted the 3rd South Caucasus Transboundary Tourism workshop. With Georgian colleagues state authorities and the representatives of the privet sector coming from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Iran took part in the workshop.
The workshop was initiated and organized by the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Autonomous Republic of Ajara. The participants of the workshop were Georgian National Tourism Administration, Government of Ajara A.R., Batumi Sh. Rustaveli State University, Regional Tourism Advisory Board of Ajara, different tourism agencies and associations represented in the region and representatives of the consulates accredited in Batumi.
In the frames of the workshop a resolution of cooperation in a tourism sphere has been worked out on the following topics: educational cooperation between academic spheres, joint trainings, joint marketing activities, cooperation with international tourism organizations, creating a joint web portal and so on.
What’s more a joint Facebook page has been created in order to exchange ideas, share information, discuss different proposals and make decisions in order to create and develop joint tourist products.
The 3rd Workshop on South Caucasus Transboundary Tourism turned out successful and fruitful as evaluated by the workshop participants.
