On March 5, at 11 AM, the meeting of regional tourism advisory board was held at the department of tourism and resorts of Ajara. During the meeting the chairman of the department presented to the board plans for 2014 while summarizing the results of the previous year. The main aim of the meeting was to inform the private sector about planned activities and share their remarks and recommendations. Notably, the department is in active preparation for the upcoming season by taking part in numerous tourism trade shows and conferences, running different advertising campaigns in target countries and planning numerous familiarization trips for foreign tour operators and media representatives.

The regional tourism advisory board has been functioning since April 2013 and consists of 14 representatives from private and academic sector involved in a tourism sphere. The above mentioned meeting was the first in 2014 held with full composition for discussing the current and planned activities
