According to the data of information-analytical department of Georgian ministry of internal affairs in July of 2014 the number of Russian tourists in Georgia was increased with 13,3%, while in Ajara region 10% increase of Russian tourists can be noticed if compared with data of the same period of 2013.

Due to the absence of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Russia no official advertising campaign has been realized on Russian market-says the representative of Ajara tourism department. However, several activities have been carried out in social medias, namely on Facebook and vkontakte, as well as an internet advertising was launched on search engine system in yandex. In addition a press trip has been organized for leading Russian journalists.

It is important to note, that Russia keeps its leading position in terms of increase in number of tourists. The list of countries with the largest number of visits is the following: Turkey, (-3%), Azerbaijan (+35%), Armenia (-2%), Russia (+13,3%) and Ukraine (+32,6%).
