Ajara at an international tourism fair in Belarus Leisure 2015

On April 8-11, the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara was participating at an international tourism fair “Leisure 2015”. During 4 days numerous events were held at the stand of Ajara that attracted a lot of visitors. During the exhibition, Georgian wine and national dish Khachapuri was available for trying. In addition, a special photo booth was constructed, where guests were able to take photos in national Georgian clothes. On April 10, a presentation about Ajara tourism potential was held at the conference hall of the exhibition center. Together with the tourism department, Belarusian tour operator „СТС ВОЯЖ” and a travel company “Capital Georgia Travel” were also participating in the above mentioned presentation. The presentation was also attended by Georgia’s envoy extraordinary and plenipotentiary in republic of Belarus Mr. Gocha Tchelidze, the first secretary Mr. Irakli Meskheli, the deputy director of national tourism agency of Belarus Svetlana Gavriilova, representatives of Georgian fellow countrymen, around 80 tour operators, travel agents and journalists. After the presentation, a lottery was drawn. A winner was presented a bottle of Georgian wine, as well as Georgian souvenirs and a trip to Georgia that will be organized by the tour operator „СТС ВОЯЖ”. A big contribution of Georgian embassy in Belarus in successful organization of the presentation should be mentioned. In addition, a wine company “Tbilvino” and clothes shop “Samoseli Pirveli” took an active part in organization of the department’s participation in the tourism fair.

Republic of Belarus is an important target tourism market for the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Ajara and Georgian National Tourism Administration. The department has already launched different marketing and PR activities for the season of 2015. Namely, from April 6 to May 31 outdoor advertising campaign is realized in central streets of Minsk and in metro. In addition, advertising spots are transmitted on 2 major radio channels. Apart from this, numerous press and fam trips are scheduled for Belarusian journalists and tour operators.
