On September 21, 2014 the third Batumi International Bird Festival was finished by a conclusive meeting at Hotel Intourist Palace attended by Foreign experts of Bird watching, as well as representatives of Ajara tourism department, municipalities, academic sector, protected areas and environmental protection division. During the meeting different stakeholders conducted thematic presentations. Moreover, various problems and issues were discussed that are important for future development of Bird watching tourism in the region. The worked out recommendations mainly concern training of Bird watching guides, raising awareness of Bird watching and increasing the involvement of local experts and amateurs.

The third Batumi International Bird Festival was organized by the Department of Tourism and resorts of Ajara. In the frames of the festival interesting excursions were organized to the bird watching points throughout Ajara. In addition, a presentation about ancient Georgian tradition “Falconry” was conducted near Batumi Botanical Garden. Besides, a new bird watching point was opened in Mtirala National Park.
