A part of foreign tourists visiting Ajara enter the region via flights at Batumi international aiport. According to the data of January-July, 2014 the number of foreign tourists is increased with 21% if compared with the data of the same period of 2013. As a result of doubled number of flights from Ukraine the number of Ukrainian touruists is significatly increased (+230). In addition important growth is noticed in number of Polish (+153%) and Belorussian (+85%) tourists. Positive tendencies are seen in direction of Azerbaijan (+12%), Israel (+10%) and Iraq (+126). It is also important to note that a number of European tourists is going up (Estonia +64%, Bulgaria +63%, Lithuania +19%).

It should be also mentioned that a large number of foreign tourists arrive in Ajara region via Kutaisi and Tbilisi international airports. Increased number of flights at Georgian international airports is one of the factors accounting for a grown number of tourists in Georgia.
