GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This beautiful square has become the symbol of Batumi. It is built around 5.700 sq/m area and is distinguished by wonderful samples of decoration, mosaic and stained-glass art. The construction of Piazza Square was completed in 2010 within the frames of rehabilitation program for Batumi historical districts and tourist infrastructure. The chief architect of the square is Vazha Orbeladze and the author of the stained-glass windows - Estonian artist Dolores Hoffman. Piazza Square has gained the function of the center of cultural and entertaining events in Batumi. The place is visited by every tourist arriving in Batumi. The square hosted the concerts of such world famous singers and musicians as Placido Domingo, Chris Botti, Sting, Macy Grey, Michel Legrand and Tamar Gverdtsiteli.
